The Kid in Me...
(Jai sandwich)
The weekend came to an end with homemade empanadas made by my host abuelos (grandparents). To be honest, they put every South American restaurant in the States to shame. I was more than satisfied and comfortable enough to fall asleep but not before I was given a special Chillean drink that helps with digestion. It tasted like licorice and isopropyl alcohol but hey, when in Chilé...
It's amazing how little we allow our world to be in the U.S. We think nothing of life outside of our borders unless it pops up online or on the television. We think that many of the countries south of our border are third or second world countries and fail to realize that life and civility does not end outside of the U.S. For those of you reading this with assumptions that I'm 'roughing' it down in the jungle, I have running water, internet, heat, there are U.S. fast food restaurants (gross), and civility. There is life in this once thought baron land.
(My own mummy)
After a great lunch, of course you gotta work it off with some play time. Meet my mummy, Clemente. I skipped all the gory practices with brains, organs, and jars and went straight to the wrapping. It feels good having a little brother to torture and even more that we don't understand each other but have perfected nonverbal communication. We're working on his bow tie game and I can promise you that he'll be a lady killer when he gets older.

(Mike makes an appearance)
Hey look, Mike decided to show up. He looks happy to be home in Concepcion with Rodrigo, Johanna, Diego, and Clemente. Tune in next week for more kooky adventures of Mike the Tiger. Same Tiger Channel, Same Tiger Time!
